Silly question? No it's not!

I received an e-mail from a woman asking me the following question:
Silly question.... does Winco take internet printable coupons?
My reply:
NOT a silly question. Yes they do. Their policy does not exclude the use of printables BUT each store may add a policy that prohibits the internet printables as the Kennewick store did in the past.
The Richland store does indeed take printables, I was there last night and used a couple. Personally, after spending over $220 last night at WinCo I realized that the vast majority of things I purchased could have been bought at Target or Albertsons at the same price or less. What's more, the money I spent at Winco didn't have an "incentive" like Albertsons. Had I spent $220 at Albertsons I would have had like an additional 20 cents off my gas purchase bringing my current gas savings to 75 cents off per gallon (up to 20 gallons).

Same with Walmart. I was at the Pasco Walmart and the vast majority of things I was coupon shopping was either the same price, near the same price (within a dime or two) or LESS than at Target and even Albertsons. So lesson learned for me, stick to Target and Albertsons unless I'm getting something for free at those other stores. Though I do like Fred Meyer's sales, from time to time, and deals plus they also have a gas incentive like Albertsons.

Where to get coupons

BEST PLACE: The Sunday newspaper!

In stores:

Blinkies – Found on various store aisles these little machines spit out coupons as you pull them out. Most blinkies have little lights that blink hence the name.

Catalinas – Receipt-like coupons printed at the register. Not all stores have Catalinas (such as WinCo). These are typically NOT printed on the back of the register receipt.

Hang/Wine Tags – Found around the neck of a bottle with a little piece of string or rubber band.

Peelies – Coupons found on certain products that peel away from the product.

Tearpads – Coupons on a tear away pad. Typically found in a display and not directly on the product.

Other ways:

Home mailers - sign up for products online or even contact a company to either complain or complement their products. Click here for a blog with over 200 links to companies that will mail you coupons!

Internet coupons - There are many places online that you can print coupons from. See links below for printable online coupons.

Magazines – Pretty much all magazines will have coupons in it. Better Homes & Gardens, Sunset, Parenting, Working Mother are a few. The BEST magazine with coupons is All You magazine.
