Albertsons Doublers + Gage store complaint

I forgot to mention yesterday that the Albertson's ad contains doublers. Normally all the stores carry the ads - either in the vestibule or behind the counter at customer service.

I went shopping last night and planned on using three doublers to get some cereal to make Rice Krispies treats but left my doublers on the table - had my coupons with me though. I figured, "no biggie since I know they have extra at customer service."

I get there and of course there is no one at customer service and literally waited five minutes for someone to show up - one was paged within a minute or so of my waiting there. I ask the young lady if I could get the ad that came in Sunday's paper and she said, "sure" then reached down and handed me Wednesday's ad. I said, "no today's ad, this is Wednesday's". Her response along with another lady who went behind the counter, "Oh we no longer carry those, you'll need to purchase a paper now to get the doublers." THAT made me mad because I know it's a lie. I asked her what about the other Albertsons and she said, "ALL the Albertsons no longer will carry the doublers in store, you have to buy the paper".

Now I KNOW these two women lied because I called the Lee Store this morning and asked if they carried the Sunday doublers and she said, "Yes, we'll always have them out unless we run out." I explained to her what happened and she apologized for their behavior and said to come to the Lee store to shop because they had tons of doublers and loved couponers. Well the Lee store is out of my way. Techincally the Edison store is supposed to my "closest" store but it's actually the Gage store that is.

I'm writing the corporation and the Gage store manager about my experience and hope that the attitudes at the Gage store changes. I knew that couponers were not "welcomed" at the Gage store. Before I started couponing one cashier told me that couponers are "psychos" and I've been told all kinds of things, once I started couponing, by cashiers or overheard things from cashiers after I paid for my purchases and used lots of coupons.

I love the Gage store because it's the closest grocery store to my home, it's the cleanest and they typically have things in stock when the others stores don't BUT I'm fed up with the attitude of the cashiers. Things are going to have to change if they don't want people like me to continue to make negative comments about their lack of customer service.

It's probably that area. My guess this they may not use coupons like the people in Richland near the Lee store. They are awesome about coupons. I shopped at the Albertson's in Kennewick one time and from that experience I will only shop at the one off of Lee. The clerks at the Lee store are fabulous.

I have experienced grumpy people at Gage also, if I can I usually try to avoid the cashiers and go straight for self checkout if possible. I bought some produce on sale and the cashier rang it up wrong and I didn't catch it unti he was done, it took 15 minutes to fix it at the front counter and they treated me like I was nuts!! Well, $5 is $5!! At both the Lee and Clearwater stores the people are totally awesome! I took my 3 sets of doublers in a couple days ago to Lee and the lady was sooo nice, it was quite a change.

In stores:

Blinkies – Found on various store aisles these little machines spit out coupons as you pull them out. Most blinkies have little lights that blink hence the name.

Catalinas – Receipt-like coupons printed at the register. Not all stores have Catalinas (such as WinCo). These are typically NOT printed on the back of the register receipt.

Hang/Wine Tags – Found around the neck of a bottle with a little piece of string or rubber band.

Peelies – Coupons found on certain products that peel away from the product.

Tearpads – Coupons on a tear away pad. Typically found in a display and not directly on the product.
